Tremco has a long working relationship with the San Diego State University (SDSU) and several other educational, medical, commercial and governmental entities in southern California. The roof on the SDSU PSFA building is believed to be from the original construction of the building from the early 1970's. Recently, SDSU installed 14 new exhaust vents and roof curbs requiring new flashings. Following failed repair attempts and leaks using alternative materials, SDSU called upon Tremco for a solution. Tremco provided a roof repair specification that included the use of Tremco products. These product were selected based on the materials of construction from the original roof. As part of the repairs, Tremco completed a series of inspections. In these inspections Tremco observed that not all roofing materials were installed per the repair specifications. It was also noted that some repair materials were tracked into the building penthouse and stairwell. Tremco has been working closely with the installation contractor and SDSU representatives to bring full resolution to the situation. George Loder
