METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT Peter Newsham OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS Dustin Sternbeck Chief of Police Director NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Public Information Office: 202- 727-4383 April 8, 2019 Arrest Made in a Homicide: 800 Block of Taylor Street, Northeast (Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made regarding a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, November 26, 2018, in the 800 Block of Taylor Street, Northeast. At approximately 6:34 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. On Saturday, December 1, 2018, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 37 year-old Malik Muhammad, of Bowie, MD. On Monday, April 8, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 34-year-old Reginald Turner, of Capitol Heights, MD.
