April 30, 2019 Dear Parents/Guardians: Last night at the scheduled Public Budget Hearing for the town, the Board of Finance reconsidered their original reduction of ?ve-hundred thousand ($500,000) and reinstated two-hundred and ?fty thousand ($250,000) back into our proposed budget. The reinstatement of half of their reduction helps to avoid drastic cuts to programs and activities for students. We are still faced with some tough decisions as it pertains to the remaining two-hundred and fifty thousand The Board of Education will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, May 20, 2019. At this meeting discussion will ensue regarding the next year's budget. I want to thank our parents and especially our students who came out last night and spoke openly about the educational system in our town. The support was overwhelming and your voice made a difference. We will keep you apprised as the budget process moves forward over the course of May. Sincerely, Jeffrey R.
