West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Media Response April 30, 2019 Brad McElhinny, West Virginia Metro News Was there a representative of the Inspector General at WV Homeland Security and Emergency Management last week? Yes. Can you help me identify the person or persons? Jesse Argueta, Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Inspector General What was the topic? Richwood audit, recent headlines, how DHSEM will move forward with Richwood. There was talk of the Inspector General getting involved after the Auditor's Richwood report came out. Was it about that? Or was the topic broader? Yes, it was about the Richwood Audit, projects occurring there, and FEMA reviews of closeouts to determine eligibility. Was the meeting just one day? Will there be follow-up visits? DHSEM will report details of any findings on our part to OIG, so there may be additional communication of some sort. Did the Inspector General ask for any particular written information or to view any materials here at the state? Not that I am aware of aside from a copy of the meeting attendees. Who met with the IG and where? The meeting occurred in Mike Todorovich’s office and included reps from DHSEM and FEMA. Please see attached meeting list. ### For additional questions, please contact DHSEM Public Information Officer Lora Lipscomb at 304-558-5380 or lora.d.lipscomb@wv.gov
