“The case to which you refer was settled to the satisfaction of all parties. There was no finding of any breach of fiduciary duty by Jane. The “allegations” against Jane were just that, mere allegations, and were abandoned. Jane has done and continues to do everything in her power to make Terry’s life the best that it can be with the help of highly trained professionals at every turn. Frankly, it is shameful to see the apparent ignorance and recklessness with which the LA Times approaches the terrible plight of Alzheimer’s patients and the families who are impacted by this cruel disease. You should know that the best environments for Alzheimer’s patients are tailored to their needs, and not to the superficial optics applied to a rating of vacation resorts. Please let us be clear, Terry is receiving wonderful care at the MPTF. Terry and Jane and their family are entitled to their privacy and expect the LA Times to honor and respect this request.”
