LAW ENFORCEMENT ADVISORY TARGETED OPERATIONS CPD and the ATF conduct targeted operations in high-crime neighborhoods with an emphasis on: HIGH VIOLENT CRIME AREA The Cincinnati Police Department (CPD) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have designated the neighborhood of Avondale as a high violent crime area due to the excessive number of shootings and shots fired incidents that have recently occurred. RECENT AVONDALE ARRESTS AND CONVICTIONS In August of 2017, the Cincinnati Police initiated a targeted investigation into criminal activity involving Mr. Caedon Short. As a result of this investigation, Mr. Short was arrested and charged with felony drug and weapons charges. In December of 2017, Mr. Short was convicted and sentenced to 6 years in prison. In September of 2018, the Cincinnati Police conducted a targeted investigation into ongoing criminal activity involving Mr. Kevin Casey. As a result of this investigation, Mr. Casey was arrested and charged with felony drug and weapons charges. In February of 2018, Mr. Casey was convicted and sentenced to 6 years in prison.
