RE: J. A. Thompson Baseball Field. (Indian River Sports Complex Inc.)
Dr. Mr. Westenberger,
Indian River Sports Complex would like to thank the School Board of Indian River County for
partnering with us in the effort to provide a quality youth baseball program to the Indian River County
community. The J. A. Thompson Baseball Field behind Rosewood Magnet School over the years has
played a large part in the development of young baseball players in Vero Beach. The School Board of
Indian River County has been very generous in its lease agreement of the facility to Indian River Sports
Complex and the help of $3200.00 and we look forward to a great future together.
Additionally, Indian River Sports Complex, along with its volunteers, provides the maintenance for the
grounds at J. A. Thompson including, but not limited to mowing, herbicides, fence restoration, building
repairs, and general upkeep in and around the baseball field.
Indian River Sports Complex Inc. is requesting that the School Board of Indian River County continue
to assist with some of the utility costs at J. A. Thompson Field. The annual contribution of $3,200.00 by
the School Board pays for the lights at J. A. Thompson Field, and frees up player fees and sponsorship
monies to cover the other costs of running the program and helps us fund some under privileged youth
in registering and helping them with gloves, helmets and the other equipment needed to play Baseball.
In return, Indian River Sports Complex will continue to maintain the overall facility, allow for School
teams and events to use our facilities, and to promote a family fun environment for our student athletes
and residents.
