To Our John F. Kennedy High School Families,
As you may know, we hired the Adams and Reese law firm to conduct an investigation into
recent allegations of grade inflation and other issues with student credits. At the start of that
investigation, we promised to keep you apprised of any developments regarding the
investigation. Accordingly, we want to take this opportunity to notify you about some recent
changes at John F. Kennedy High School at Lake Area.
While the final report will be delivered next week, we were presented with strong evidence of
improper conduct by members of our staff and we took decisive action. As of today, the principal
and four members of the JFK Leadership Team are no longer employees of NBSF.
We are still going through the records of each of our students in detail. We will follow-up with
each affected student and family as soon as possible.
Our Board will meet this coming Tuesday, May 28th, at 5:30pm at Pierre A. Capdau Charter
School at Avery Alexander (5800 St Roch Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122) to discuss the findings
of the investigation and our plan moving forward.
Providing our students with an excellent education remains our top priority. While we are
extremely disappointed with these findings, we are committed to resolving these issues for our
students and moving forward with a strong team in place for the 2019-2020 school year.
