SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ''Wireless Consumer 5 Choice Act''. 6 7 SEC. 2. FCC DIRECTION TO WIRELESS PROVIDERS. Pursuant to its authorities under title III of the Com- 8 munications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 301 et seq.), the Fed9 eral Communications Commission, not later than 180 days GRA13043 S.L.C. 2 1 after the date of enactment of this Act, shall direct pro2 viders of commercial mobile services and commercial mo3 bile data services to permit the subscribers of such serv4 ices, or the agent of such subscribers, to unlock any type 5 of wireless device used to access such services. Nothing 6 in this Act alters, or shall be construed to alter, the terms 7 of any valid contract between a provider and a subscriber.
