Smoke Outlook for 6/20 - 6/21 Central Arizona - Woodbury Fire Issued at: 2019-06-20 10:45 MDT Woodbury Fire The fire is currently estimated at 50,494 acres and is 41 percent contained. Expect another noticeable column of smoke today through this evening. The heaviest smoke will once again be from the northeast perimeter of the fire where heavier brush is present. Today's Smoke Concerns Smoke that has settled into canyons within the wilderness, San Carlos, Roosevelt, and along Highway 188/60 has lifted this morning. Smoke will be heaviest this afternoon and evening from Roosevelt south along Highway 188 to near Claypool and Highway 288 along and east of Lake Roosevelt. Smoke will likely have impacts along Highway 60 northeast to Show Low, Fort Apache Reservation, Vernon, and surrounding communities by this evening. With the increase in southwest winds, smoke will likely be seen as far east as central New Mexico and Albuquerque tonight. Fire activity may continue through the overnight, which may contribute to smoke impacts continuing through the overnight hours for locations northeast of the fire. Friday's Smoke Concerns Smoke direction on Friday will be similar to Thursday with smoke moving toward the northeast. Impacts will again be seen along Highways 188, 288, 60, and locations further northeast.
