June 25, 2019 Ms. Bernadette Comfort Vice Chairwoman Ms. Christine Toretti National Committeewoman Mr. Bob Asher National Committeeman Dear Bernie, Christine and Bob: Since a young man growing up in South Philadelphia, have fought vigorously for our party - one that is defined by compassion, unity and inclusion. My love for the party is so strong, par- tially inspired by President Ronald Reagan, that I have earned progressively higher positions in the party becoming Chairman in 2017. Together, we have accomplished so much to be proud of over the past two and a half years. Together we have: shrunk the voter registration gap; elected three statewide judges; held the two most successful fundraisers in state party history; quadrupled the membership of the Young Republicans; maintained state legislative majorities in the face of ?blue waves;? and, worked hard to recruit women and minorities for elected office. It is with regret, after much thought and consideration, that I am resigning as Chairman of the Republican Party of effective immediately. It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve in this role. We have accomplished great things, maintained a strong state party, contributed to the strength of our national party, and are poised to achieve great things in 2019 and 2020. A recent media report contains gross mischaracterizations of mutual consensual communica- tions between myself and a former primary candidate. My resignation should in no way be confused as confirmation of these mischaracterizations. I intend to rigorously defend myself against these assertions and protect my family, my col- leagues, and the party from this private matter. I extend my deepest apologies to my family and colleagues for this unfortunate distraction. Sincerely, Val DiGiorgio
