From: Haselton, Mark A. - US Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2019 6:00 PM Subject: All Hands Message: Christian McCoy Ladies and Gentlemen Ii is my sad duty to report to you today the loss of one our own. Christian McCoy, a member of the Joint Expeditionary Team died of wounds suffered during an operation in Afghanistan. At this time his family has been notified and our hearts go out to Franny, Benjamin and Abigail. A JET member is escorting Christian to his family from Afghanistan and we have a casualty assistance team with Chris’s family to help them through this trying time. We will remain with Chris’s family until such time as they no longer need our help. There are no words to express the sorrow we all feel on this tragic loss. I know each of us recognizes the hazards associated with the work that you do, especially on the JET. As we reflect on this terrible loss, and as we remember Chris’s family and help them get through the next few days, weeks and months, please never forget that the work that Chris was doing, and in fact the work that all of you do, has saved countless lives. Every member of the JET knows that through their actions, servicemembers have returned home safely to their loved ones. We should all remember that Chris’s service was to his country and his fellow Americans and he died doing something incredibly important and consistent with the type of service he gave the nation over his 26 year military career. Chris will return to CONUS and be met at Dover AFB on Friday. He will be accompanied every step of the way by a member of the JET and his reception and transfer to his family will include a contingent from our leadership team. We cannot thank the escort officers, casualty assistance team and HR representatives enough. Theirs has been the hardest duty--making the initial notifications, helping with arrangements for Chris’s arrival and simply being there for Chris’s family. We have received exceptional support from CACI HR, the International Risk Team and leaders at every level. It is heartening to know at a time like this that taking care of people is truly their highest priority. I will have more to say about this in the coming days. However I would ask that you keep discussions about this among this team. Out of respect for the family, please do not discuss this incident with anyone outside of the CACI-WGI family at this time. Lyle Schaeffer and his team will keep us informed of all of the actions associated with future arrangements. To the members of JET, please know that we will keep Chris, his family and the entire JET in our prayers. I cannot find the words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I know how hard this must be on everyone, but especially the JET members who have given so much to their country and each other. With Respect, Mark Mark A. Haselton Vice President, Div Manager
