The District Attorney?s of?ce recently submitted your claim to the Oklahoma Victims Compensation
Program to determine if it meets the eligibility requirements established by state law. According to the
information we have, we will not be able to make an award on your claim. The claim was declined for
the following reason:

An award oi?compensation cannot be made if the victim?s actions contributed to the
criminal incident. The incident appears to be gang related and the victim exercised poor
judgment by choosing to be a gang member.

It is possible that we have incomplete or incorrect information regarding this incident. if you disagree
with this decision or feel we made this decision in error, you have the right to appeal. To ?le an
appeal, you must write a letter to the Administrator of the Crime Victims Compensation
Program. The letter must be received in our of?ce by February 15, 2014. Your letter should:
