Staffing Change at Southside Ashpole Elementary
Rowland, NC (July 1, 2019) – Achievement for All Children (AAC) announced today
that Bruce Major, Principal at Southside Ashpole Elementary in Rowland, NC, has
resigned from his position effective July 1, 2019. Prior to coming the Southside
Ashpole, Major held multiple leadership positions at schools in China. Major has
decided to return his focus to international education and has accepted a position
abroad.

“Bruce has done an exceptional job serving the students of Southside Ashpole and
will be greatly missed,” said Tony Helton, CEO of AAC. “He gave his heart and soul
into moving the needle at Southside Ashpole and building strong relationships in the
community. We appreciate all that he has done and wish him well in his future
endeavors.
Mr. Major was hired as principal of Southside Ashpole in July 2018 after AAC was
selected by the Innovative School District (ISD) to operate Southside Ashpole and
improve school performance. AAC is grateful for the support of the staff and local
community during the 2018-19 school year. We are currently in the process of
identifying and hiring a strong and passionate leader to propel Southside Ashpole to
success in the 2019-20 school year and beyond.

We applaud State Board of Education (SBE) and the ISD for being true pioneers in
education and working so diligently to ensure that all children have opportunities to
learn, grow, and reach their full potential. AAC is grateful for the trust the SBE and
ISD have given the organization and look forward to the continued partnership.
