Responsibilities: - You are charged with leading the team to success in two categories of grassroots engagement: 1) Lit Dropping - Saturday, July 6, 2019 2) Phone Calling – July 3, 5, 8, 9 Lit Dropping Saturday, July 6, 2019 - You will be assigned to a lit dropping location based on your geography o Nor Cal (LA) or So Cal (Freemont) You are responsible for covering the costs of your transportation to the meet up location. If you have a vehicle, you will receive $25 to cover gas for the day while lit dropping Your arrival time and address will be provided to you before deployment Your team leader will be on site to check you in when you arrive You will be expected to drop a minimum of 300 pieces of literature - Literature and door knocking software will be provided for you Targeted Phone Calls July 3rd, 5th, 8th, 9th - You will assist in targeted phone calls to 4 key legislators You will make 2 calls to each legislator, 8 calls per day, 32 calls total o One call to the legislator’s district office, the other to the district office Phone numbers to call will be provided for you Items to Bring With You: - Working smart phone Working cell phone charger External Battery (if you have one) Car charger (if you have one) Water bottle Dress code: nice casual. No graphic tees, no ripped jeans, no basketball shorts Valid identification Rules: 1. Alcohol/drug policy: Alcohol and drugs are not allowed during work hours. 2. Professional: Professionalism is expected at all times. We are under scrutiny from opposition, media, and every day voters. 3. Negative attitudes will not be tolerated: This program is an opportunity to advance not only the campaign, but also a chance to advance the ideas we believe in. Being negative about the program, insubordinate, or refusing to participate will not be tolerated. 4. Be an adult: Respect others property rights. Remember this in all that you do. Compensation: - You will be compensated $175 total for the program. You will receive compensation no later than the end of the day Friday, July 12th You will be required to create a PayPal account to receive payment. Failure to complete the entire program will result in pro-rated or lost pay. Additional opportunities and bonuses may be offered to top performers. Bill/Purpose: AB 44 is a ban on the sale of fur in California. We oppose this on the purest of free market grounds. Excerpt from the bill: "This bill would make it unlawful to sell, offer for sale, display for sale, trade, or otherwise distribute for monetary or nonmonetary consideration a fur product, as defined, in the state. The bill would also make it unlawful to manufacture a fur product in the state for sale."
