Sometimes domestic violence claims are not what - Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber (WA) - June 11, 2013 June 11, 2013 Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber (WA) Regarding your article on the DoVE project and all the great work that they do ("DoVE sees growing demand for services," May 29), I feel compelled, with great discomfort, to air the unsavory side of the issue of domestic violence when used as a highly destructive tool. All too often, manufactured domestic violence claims can easily be made (often with the help of an attorney who recognizes a cash cow when she sees one), an order of protection issued, and as the result of a Washington State Supreme Court ruling, hearsay evidence adequate to prosecute. Without any history or proof whatsoever, a family can be ruined by false allegations. T he Domestic Violence Order for Protection is a blunt tool, used oftentimes as a device to ensure that a simple divorce case is fraudulently weighted from the very start. It is time for the injustices which face the victims of victims to be discussed openly. — Will van Spronsen CIT AT ION (AGLC ST YLE) 'Sometimes domestic violence claims are not what they seem Letter to the Editor', VashonMaury Island Beachcomber (online), 11 Jun 2013 ‹https://infoweb-newsbankcom.ezproxy.spl.org/apps/news/document-view?p=AWNB&docref=news/146E05897AB8E5E0› Copyrig ht (c) 2013 Sound Publishing Inc., Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber.
