Mayor John Cranley City of Cincinnati Of?ce of Mayor John Cranley 801 Plum Street, Suite 150 Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 Phone (513) 352?3250 Fax (513) 352?5201 Email: gov July 22, 2019 The Honorable Patrick T. Dinkelacker Hamilton County Courthouse 1000 Main Street, Room 360 Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 Dearludge Dinkelacker, It is with utmost respect for you and your office that write to ask you not to place Tracie Hunter in prison. I appreciate that she has been convicted but serving prison time seems to me to be disproportionate to her crime. Ms. Hunter has suffered for her conviction. She was removed as a judge and no longer has her law license. It doesn?t appear to me that she poses any risks to others. Her professional life has been negatively impacted. She has been punished enough. it is my understanding that Ms. Hunter is the primary caretaker of her elderly mother who needs assistance. Obviously, if she serves time in prison it will create difficulties for her mother to be taken ca re of. As you know, jail space is at a premium for violent offenders and Ms. Hunter poses no violent harm to anybody. I understand that Ms. Hunter has made yourjob difficult, but in my opinion, for the reasons stated, it is in the best interests of the city that Ms. Hunter not be placed in prison. Thank you for reading this and feel free to contact me anytime. I know you have a very difficult job. Godspeed. Sincerely, Jo Cranley Mayor, City of Cincinnati Equal Opportunity Employer
