On 4/22/2014 I received a link from the Student Health Center to complete an online survey about my experiences at the Health Center. In my responses to the survey, I spoke very highly of the nursing staff and the medical assistants. I also included my grievances with Dr. Kelly’s practices and bedside manner as a doctor specializing in Men’s Sexual Health. I explained through this forum that Dr. Kelly would engage in moralistic responses to my sexual behavior, often shaming me for not being in a monogamous relationship. I listed that he would ask seemingly invasive questions about my sex life and how I choose to meet partners. I also named that he would use scare tactics as a means of trying to curb my sexual behaviors, by insisting that I would contract, specifically, antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea and HIV if I didn’t listen to him. I submitted the survey and the system thanked me for my submission. Yet, I never heard a response or received follow-up to my concerns noted. Nor did I see any changes in Dr. Kelly’s practices thereafter.
