(In June 29, 2017 at approximately 11:51} am, was comin back from the bathroom on the was hm. [ssh masts District atoms-s hulking ?its support staff ?cubicle. I decided to join the conversation. After talking with them for about 10-15 minutes,? ?came up to us. speci?cally myself and ?and asked us if we wanted to go to lunch at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena where she and her family were staying as their house was being remodeled. I said, ?well I was just going to get a salad and bring it back,? ?said that she was just going to stay in to es. said ?come on, it?s my treat, I will even drive?. So I said ?ok I will go?. then said ?ok I?m in". So each of us go to our respective of?ces to get our purses and wallets. then headed down to the HDJ parking lot. 1When we got to the Langham at 12:20pm. we were seated right away outside near the pool. The waiter came and we gave him our lunch selections. We all started talking about various topics during lunch, from work to personal life outside ofwork. ?shared with us what was going on with her as far as her home life and that pretty much her life revolves around work and nothing else right now. She started talking about [Ml-case and how her and her co?eounsel got authority to dismiss and re?le the casein order to better organize the issues in the case. A discussion arose about what unit was ultimatelv res onsible for the direction ofthe case and who she is to report to as she is isms her mum. is as? _said that when she first got on the case over a year ago that it was tough on her regarding who she was to take direction from and who she was to report to about the case. her or the Head lJe utv in anized Crime. - Throughout lunch, anytime ?would talk about Assistant Head Deputy Ed Miller in the Health Care Fraud unit, whether it was about her case with Organized Crime or about the low morale in the Health Care Fraud unit. she would always refer to him as 1/1 7/11/2019 image.jpg ?the Assistant Head whom I will not say his name?. She said it at least 3-4 times that I heard. During lunch, I was thinking to myself, what is going on with her not saying Ed?s name. I would look at ?when she would say ?the Assistant Head whom I won?t say his name? and?didn?t pick up on it. I thought it was unusual as I have only seen it happen when I have handled cases where the victims are familiar with their perpetrators and choose not to refer to them by their name. At about 1:25pm, we left from the Langham Hotel and headed back to the of?ce. As- -was driving, we were talking about the low morale in the Health Care Fraud unit and how management, speci?cally Head Deputy Jennifer Snyder and Assistant Head Deputy Ed Miller, were responding to it. And again, ?referred to Ed Miller once in that conversation as ?the Assistant Head whose name I will not say?. During that conversation, _aid that she would need to stop and get gas as she was near empty. So we stopped at a Chevron gas station, and ?Ieft the car to go ?ll up the gas tank. While she was out of the ear, _and I were still talking and I just asked- -?has someone in the of?ce touched you?? and ?stopped talking and it was silent for about 3 seconds and then I said ?well that would be a yes". Then I said to ?did Ed touch you inappropriately?. ?never said yes or no to my question, but said to me ?please don?t say anything to anyone, but Ed has said and done things that have been inappropriate while I have stayed late working overtime in my of?ce." I said won?t say anything, but this is not right?. I asked her ?speci?cally what has he done to you inappropriately?" Then ?walked toward the front door of the car and ?said to me, ?Please don?t tell -. I said won?t?. ?got back into the driver?s seat and started the car. The conversation then turned to which freeway was the closest to get on to get to the of?ce faster and then what plans each of us had for the upcoming weekend. When we got back to the of?ce it was around 2:05 she was going to go the restroom. I said to ??hey can I talk in ou in my of?ce for a second?. ?said ?sure?. So we went into my of?ce, *sat in the chair in front of my desk and I closed the door to my of?ce. I said what is going on? This is unacceptable?. ?said know, I know?. I said so what is going on?" ?said to me that, on a few occasions when she has worked late in her of?ce, Ed has come by and has made comments about her sexually". She said on one occasion he has said to her ?boy what I wouldn't do to have a tall -. She said she has told him on those occasions that ?she didn?t like what he was saying and appreciated it if he would leave her alone.? She said on one occasion, he came in to her of?ce and placed a yellow legal pad that had writing on it on her desk while she was sitting down and said to her ?read this?.
