FY 19 Ames Main Street Challenge Grant – Olde Main Brewing Company
Notice of Rescission

Dear Drew:
The Ames Main Street Cultural District, d/b/a Ames Main Street, applied for and received
notice of the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s intent to award a Fiscal Year 2019
Main Street Challenge Grant to provide assistance for a project in the Downtown Ames
District that included renovation of Olde Main Brewing Company. IEDA has been informed
that Scott Griffin, the owner of Olde Main Brewing Company and other similar businesses,
has surrendered his alcohol licenses and will close or has closed Olde Main. We
understand Ames Main Street is, therefore, withdrawing its application for an FY19
Challenge Grant.
This confirms that the Iowa Economic Development Authority rescinds the Main Street
Challenge Grant Award, effective immediately. If you have any questions, please contact

Despite this setback, the Downtown Ames District is a thriving community. I am confident it
