CAFU - Facial Recognition Statistics Facial recognition requests are presented to the WI DMV Compliance, Audit and Fraud Unit (CAFU) solely from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (WIDOJ). WIDOJ coordinates all law enforcement entities (state and federal) requests for facial recognition. CAFU processes all requests provided by WIDOJ and provides results that are in turn provided to the requesting jurisdiction in compliance with all appropriate laws and statutes related to facial recognition in Wisconsin. CAFU has been compiling data on these requests since 2014, see below. The types of cases for these requests are captured for 2016.
