Dear Governor DeSantis,

On behalf of the Treasure Coast Council of Local Governments, we
respectfully request that you consider filling the vacant South Florida Water
Management Governing Board seat whom will represent Glades, Highlands,
Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola and Polk counties, with a representative who
stands for agriculture’s best interests. As you are aware, agriculture is a
primary consumptive user of water and is a vital component to regulating
flows by holding excess water whenever possible.
Agriculture plays an enormous role in water management and the Treasure
Coast Council of Local Governments appreciates your steadfast focus on
water quality. Having representation on the board will help to deliver the
goals that we are all striving to achieve.
