METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT Peter Newsham OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS Dustin Sternbeck Chief of Police Director NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Public Information Office: 202- 727-4383 August 23, 2019 Homicide: 3400 Block of 18th Street, Southeast (Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, August 22, 2019, in the 3400 block of 18th Street, Southeast. At approximately 10:02 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 1700 block of Trenton Place, Southeast, for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an unconscious adult male victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 3400 block of 18th Street, Southeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The decedent has been identified as 28 year-old Ronald Brown, of Southeast, DC. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
