Dear Mr. George,

Pursuant to Bulletin 741, Louisiana @345. Requesting Waivers ot
BESE Policy, the Louisiana Department of Education has approved the request submitted tor Jahn F.
Kennedy High School For a waiver of up to one Carnegie unit required For graduation torthe foHawing
students:

student failed .5 unit of United States History, and the John F. Kennedy
High School administration tailed to reassign the student in the course. As a result af this error,
the student needs .5 unit in united States History in order to meet graduation requirements.

John F. Kennedy High School administration erroneously enrolled the
student in Human Geography Regular (Credit Recovery) instead of Human Geography Advanced
Placement. As a result afthiS error, the student needs one unit in Human Geography in orderto
meet graduation requirements.

LASID The John F. Kennedy High School administration erroneously enrolled the
student in Health (Credit Recovery) instead af Health (initial Credit). As a result ofth'is error, the
student needs .5 unit in Health in orderto meet graduation requirements.

LASID The student passed Algebra I Part and Part II, which does not satisfy TOPS
Core 4 graduation requirements. The John F. Kennedy High School administration erroneously
assigned the student to Algebra (Credit Recovery) instead af Algebra I (initial Credit). As a result
afthis error, the student needs one unit in Algebra I in order to meet graduation requirements.

LASID The John F. Kennedy High School Administration erroneously assigned the
student to English in an unapproved and unauthorized online learning program. As a result of
this error, the student needs one unit in English in order to meet graduation requirements.

LASID The John F. Kennedy High School Administration erroneously assigned the
student to Physical Science in an unapproved and unauthorized online learning program. As a
result of this error, the student needs one unit in Physical Science in order to meet graduation
requirements.

LASID _The John F. Kennedy High School administration failed to assign the
student to a Health course at any point during the students high school career. The
administration also failed to reassign the student to a Physical Education course after the

 

student ally failed that caurse. As a result of this ermr, the student needs one unlt in Health

and Physical Education in order to meet graduation reouirements.

LASID The John F. Kennedy High School administration erroneously enrolled the
student in Human Geography Regular (Credit Recovery) instead of Human Geography Advanced
Placement. As a result ofthis error, the student needs one unit in Human Geography in orderto
meet graduation requirements

This waiver is being approved due to administrative error on the part oflohn F. Kennedy High School,
with the understanding that an action plan has been developed to prevent the situation from
reoccurring in the future. The students subject to this approval must still meet all othergraduation
requirements in effect at the time they entered high school.
