With this letter I am providing formal notice to the Snohomish County Council that have vetoed
Ordinance 19?043, passed by the Council on August 21, 2019. have taken this action because I believe
it is necessary to preserve the rural integrity of Clearview and other rural areas of unincorporated

Snohomish County.

I made my decision after careful deliberation and taking into consideration the public response to the
Ordinance. At a time of historic growth, we should protect rural areas of our county, and I believe that
allowing this ordinance to go into effect would set a precedent for other rural parts of the county.

Clearview is a designated rural area, and as such, it is essential that we maintain a rural strategy of
preservation and conservation. I don?t believe electric signs are in alignment with that strategy.
