METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT Peter Newsham OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS Dustin Sternbeck Chief of Police Director NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Public Information Office: 202- 727-4383 September 13, 2019 Homicide: 700 Block of Brandywine Street, Southeast (Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, September 12, 2019, in the 700 block of Brandywine Street, Southeast. At approximately 8:56 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location after hearing the sounds of gunshots. Members canvased the area and located two adult male victims inside of a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victims to a local hospital. After all lifesaving efforts failed, one of the victims was pronounced dead. The second victim received treatment for life-threatening injuries. The decedent has been identified as 48 year-old Robert William Wagoner, of Capital Heights, MD. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
