Homicide: 700 Block of Brandywine Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are
investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, September 12, 2019, in the 700 block of
Brandywine Street, Southeast.
At approximately 8:56 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location after
hearing the sounds of gunshots. Members canvased the area and located two adult male victims
inside of a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical
Services arrived on the scene and transported the victims to a local hospital. After all lifesaving
efforts failed, one of the victims was pronounced dead. The second victim received treatment for
life-threatening injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 48 year-old Robert William Wagoner, of Capital Heights,
MD.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that
provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons
responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information
