Statement from Dr. Gregor Alexander:

I recently underwent a third?party medical evaluation, the results of which required me to quickly step away
from the practice of medicine until my evaluation is completed. I have made the decision to take a leave of
absence to attend to my health. For this reason, I have also decided to resign from continuing service on the
several Orlando Health Boards and Committees I have been part of over the years and will not participate in
the upcoming Walk for Winnie event.

While I appreciate the concern around my decision to take medical leave, the misinformation that I was
unjustly fired or forced to leave is damaging to both Winnie Palmer Hospital and my legacy, so please rely upon
this statement as my official word. I have spent 40 years supporting the Winnie Palmer NIC as part of an
amazing team of neonatologists and support staff. The Winnie Palmer NIC and Alexander Center for
Neonatology is one of the best in the country. Even with my departure, you can rest assured that its clinical
teams will continue to deliver outstanding patient care.
