Based on our phone conversation, Terracon will relocate boring B-9 and boring B-22 and not impact any of the existing bui lding pads. They were demolished around that time, and the area around them was fully excavated during remediation. The Service Center buildings were never constructed. The steel beams that are being salvaged were intended for those buildings. The building pads were put in place just before the explosion occurred. They are t he whitish rectangles visible in the aerial photos after 2006. They are also labeled '6' on the Shaw Environmental maps. It appears to me that none of the bore holes are directly in a building pad except for B-22. I think the topsoil is pretty thin in t hat area, and the bore is shallow, so it probably does not present a problem, because I doubt there is any topsoi l beneath the pad. The raised area around B-4 must be a spoil pile, because the only pad in that area is quite small, and it appears to be south of B-4, closer to the whit e rectangular pad west of B-7. When it comes to excavation, I think the areas that deserve some caution are the rectangular pads north of Shaw's general limit of excavation line, that were excluded from the excavation (labeled '6'). Thanks for the overlays of the bore hole locations. They give me much greater peace of mind by being able to see exactly where they land .
