National Biosolids Partnership Interim Audit Schedule
The City of Mankato Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) has scheduled a third party
audit of it National Biosolids Partnership (NBP). The NBP is an elective program that promotes
the beneficial reuse and best management practices of biosolids produced in the wastewater
process. Mankato was designated the first city in Minnesota and 28th in the nation to receive a
national biosolids partnership certification. The city works with area farmers, who use biosolids
applied as a fertilizer to improve and maintain productive soils and stimulate plant growth.
A third party audit will review program and determine if the program’s requirements are being
met. The audit begins 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29 and lasts until 4:30 p.m. and again on
Wednesday, October 30 from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This event is open to the public, who can
attend all or portions of the two-day audit. Time has been set aside on Wednesday from 8:15
a.m. to 9 a.m. have interested party interviews. Times are tentative. If interested in attending
