Suspect Wanted in a Homicide: 900 Block of 21st Street, Northeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are
investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, October 24, 2019, in the 900 block of 21st Street,
Northeast.
At approximately 5:12 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of
a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male inside of a residence, suffering from
a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the
victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 32 year-old Alie Labay of New Carrollton, MD.
The suspect in this case has been identified as 30 year-old Gregory Antwan Washington. Washington
is described as 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 150 lbs. He is currently wanted on a DC Superior
Court arrest warrant for First Degree Murder While Armed. He can be seen in the photo below:

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides
information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any
homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call
