With two outs in the seventh inning, Whitehurst golfed an 0-1 pitch over the head of leftfielder Sarah Schultz, scoring Becky Pfiel from third base to give Kempsville (27-2) a 1-0 victory over previously unbeaten Osbourn and its first state Group AAA championship.
