NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY LEGLSLATIVE BUILDING RALEIGH 2760! October 21, 2019 .VIA HAND DEIJVERY Governor Roy Cooper 20301 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699 Dear Governor Cooper, We appreciate your administration?s decision to answer questions related to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline matter. We will work with your of?ce to identify the best date and time for a committee hearing during the week of November 4, 2019. Regarding the October 11, 2019 letter Ms. Jones sent on your behalf, there is no need for that kind of incendiary rhetoric. We understand that you do not wish to be the subject of an oversight investigation. But it is our hope that everybody involved can act professionally and respectfully toward one another as the investigation reaches its conclusion in the coming weeks. It is inappropriate to attack the reputations of decorated federal agents, one of whom was named FBI Special Agent of the Year in 2017. Your effort to undermine the professional reputations of career federal agents is unfounded and irreSponsible. We hope we can move past these ugly attacks and focus on substance. To that end, the independent investigators have informed us that they wish to hear from you, Ken Eudy, William McKinney, and Julia White. We hope that you and the requested staff are available during the oversight hearing, which we are holding because of your refusal to speak to or allow your staff to speak to the independent investigators in the same confidential format used for all interviewees. The format will likely be similar to a standard deposition. Our staff will contact your office shortly to schedule a date and time for the hearing. Please inform us if you intend to make yourself and the above-requested state employees available to the legislature for the oversight hearing. Sincerely, Sena timer}; Brown Representative flea-Ii Al?p
