METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT Peter Newsham OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS Dustin Sternbeck Chief of Police Director NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Public Information Office: 202- 727-4383 November 22, 2019 Arrest Made in a Homicide: 3500 Block of 22nd Street, Southeast (Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in the 3500 block of 22nd Street, Southeast. At approximately 8:21 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. Additionally, a juvenile male victim arrived at local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The decedent has been identified as 39 year-old Bruce Gilmore of Southeast, DC.
