Pursuant to N.C.G.S. I am pleased to appoint you the Chief District Court
Judge for Judicial District 29A, effective November 9, 2019, and enclose your certi?cate of
appointment.

The proper administration of justice is the most signi?cant task of the judiciary. As you
know, you as Chief District Court Judge have a leadership role in this important undertaking. To
that end, I ask you to do all you reasonably can to ensure that each session of District Court held
in Judicial District 29A is conducted fairly and with dignity, decorum, and ef?ciency; that every
person who appears before the court is treated courteously and with respect; and that all District
Court Judges utilize fully the court time made available to them.

You have served the state and your judicial district ably and conscientiously as District
Court Judge, and I am con?dent you will undertake your additional responsibilities as Chief
District Court Judge with a commitment to having an ef?cient, effective District Court for the
