The impact of a violent crime can devastate
victims and their families without the care and
kindness provided by SPD’s Victim Advocates.
Victim Advocate Garry Boulden provides a
gentleness and kindness that should be
modeled by victim advocates throughout the
industry. Garry has a remarkable ability to
communicate and show appropriate empathy
in all manner of crises. Garry is willing to
meet new challenges as proven in his work at
the SR530 Mudslide and the clinical
contributions he provided following the
Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting.
Garry, in addition to his tireless work as a
victim advocate, provides clinical support for
the countless number of Department
personnel in need of peer support resources.

A Day In The Life
Beyond the Badge

A Homicide and Assault Crime Victim Advocate, Garry Boulden has been
working with crime victim families for 25 years. Garry is a constant source of
comfort and compassion for the families of murder victims, guiding these
families through the difficult process of long and tiresome murder trials. These
trials require his daily presence with the family in the courtroom. Garry serves
these families with a calming and compassionate demeanor coupled with a
working knowledge of courtroom protocol and procedure. Garry has dedicated
his life to the service of crime victims and their families, and while doing so,
