In a hostile and crowded media climate, Project Veritas shattered narratives and changed minds. Our adversaries in the national news media tried to ignore our work and ultimately could not. Time and time again, our work broke through to local news networks and dominated the national conversation. Our accomplish- ments in 2018 allowed millions of Americans to witness firsthand how propagan? dists in the media and other entrenched progressives will lie, either or by omission, to protect their sacred cows. Every year, Project Veritas is all about challenging their ?institutions." The abstract but powerful classes of culture (unions, big tech, the media, entrenched politi? cians) protected by the journalistic elite, bureaucrats, and the media. 2018 was no different?perhaps even exceptional by degree. Right out of the gate in January, we published our first (and certainly not stay tuned for 2019!) big tech series, exposing Twitter of?cials confirming "shad- ow-banning" of conservative users of their servicesand user privacy abuses. Recall that just last year, the media still said shadow-banning was a myth. Our videos ultimately led to the term "shadow-banning" entering the national lexicon. How far we've come! A ain, Project Veritas con?rmed sus icions and captured on video the very people "engineer such selective censors ip on social media. They even explained to our Veritas journalists exactly how they do it! Thanks to those Twitter videos, law- makers in Washington DC were empowered to question social media executives regarding the unfair treatment of conservatives and other targeted groups and individuals and potential free speech violations, on a variety of social media plat? forms. They cited our video evidence in a Congressional hearing. Ultimately, even President 'I?rum commented, tweeting about "shadow-bannin on the platform. Believe me, we' 1 accomplish even more than that when we pu lish our next big tech story. Almost immediately after the release of those videos, we published my second book, American Pravda: Fight for Truth in the Era of Fake News. Part rollicking adventure story, part spy-thriller, American Pravda is a modern treatise on media and the Beltway journalist?s contempt for the truth. it was a joy to chronicle the latest chapters in Veritas' history and an even greaterjoy to share them with so many of you at our well-attended book events in New York City and Washington DC. We then set our sights on a colossal target, no stranger to the Veritas crosshairs teachers? unions. For decades, the American media and political class have been utterly paralyzed by unions, unable to speak freely about them for fear of public retaliation. The unions have amassed so much power that they've earned a free pass from the mainstream media. This has allowed rampant corruption, fraud, dishonesty, and abuse to stay in the shadows??unnoticed and unaddressed. . 3 In the Spring of 20 l8, Project Veritas obtained and Puggs?h?d union offices across the country, exposmg how unlon 0 cm and racial abuse of students by rogue teachers. In one case, our investigation into union of?ces in New Jerse took the atlor?glv 23;] cation Association by storm! New Jersey newspapers and. re ev1s10n statlons rs to the story extensively, and pressure from New Jersey residents led state sena . comment on and then pass legislation to prevent future abiises llke thr? 01195 ?1?qu cred in our investigation. The comments made by teachers union preSIdents on v1 eo were indefensible and inarguable, leading to reprimand and removal from the? posts. Shortly thereafter, we set our sights on another behemoth, the dishonesty and malice within the entrenched call of bureaucrats in the United States federal government. Project Veritas' Deep State: Unmasked series exposed resisters 1n the federal govern- ment bragging about how they can?t get ?red despite actively thwarting their employ? ers' directives, and those of the presidential administration. Our videos showmg of?- cials from the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the . Department of Health and Human Services, the Government Ac- countability Of?ce, and the Internal Revenue Serv1ce resulted in of?cial statements indicating concern and reprimand, and in some cases, the termination or removal of the gov- ernment resisters we unmasked. Nobody else does this. During the Summer and Fall of 2018, the media was fawning over anonymous sources from the #Resis- tance the Deep State passing around unattribut- able quotes, reported secondhand, months after they were allegedly spoken. The media obscured the truth, casting the shadow of a shadow. Bootstrapping their failure to get real facts. Project Veritas uncovered the truth. Beginning in September, we launched the results of our months-long investigation unmasking the Deep State. You will find no anonymously penned op?eds, or anything of the sort in our Deep State series only quotes by Deep State resisters in Washington DC while looking directly into our undercover cam- eras. In other words, we put names and faces to the once hidden Deep State. Our investigation uncovered of?cials at the State Department, the DOJ, IRS and other agencies speaking of resisting "everyt ring," "from the in" side," "slow~balling" executive pol- icy, and misappropriating govern- ment resources to engage in their choice of political activism. The re? )orts were bombshells that rocked 'ederal agencies to their core. The publication of the reports resulted in of?cial respon ses from the a - retary of State Mike Pompeo. genetes, Including an on-camera response from See- But we didn't stop there. 23:: l?iiedesle/ili had staffers toutlng the "blue wave" working his campaign. US. Sen- are cCaskill 3 true Views on guns and real relationship to Planned Parent- ood were revealed. US. Senator Heidi Heitkamp?s bait-and-switch politics were ex osed. Smema's progressive politics and fake moderate gambit were de? tai ed by her staff. Andrew Gillum's "fairy tale" platform was broadcast to millions, and we also exposed Beto O'Rourke's hidden misappropriation of campaign funds for migrant caravan aid. Lastly, we went to Indiana where US. Senator Joe Donnel- ly's Wife was caught on camera explaining how he has to hide his (longstanding and committed) support of unions, to win more votes. And on election day, we exposed what many in the Beltway still claim doesn?t ex- ist. Voter Fraud. Electioneering. Non?citizen voting. In Texas, our video actually prompted Governor Abbott to call for an investigation and the Texas Attorney General's office is following through. At the core of this work are qualities sorely missing from what we're offered by the national media. Truth. Exposure. Not for trivial or ?rm? currem affairs, but for society?s most protected and admired institutions. 2o) 8 was not may, but a against the pro who buy ink by the barrel and spend day and mg 1t defending the sacre cows they rely on for access. Our UCJs (or undercoverjournalists) have trained in the art of trust?building, allowing us to very deeply embed ourselves into organizations. - While allowing us to gain more access, being more deeply embedded also comes with its share of issues-it is dangerous work. JOURNALISM At Veritas, we excel at circumventing the traditional media, utilizing social media and other techniques to force the mainstream media to cover the story. The pattern is clear: Project Veritas launches an investigation with the placement of our under? cover journalists. The rollout of our findings creates a growing and uncon- tainable firestorm of press coverage. Corruption is exposed, leaders re- sign, and organizations are shut down. in the past, traditional media outlets could choose not to run a story they didn?t like. They often would ignore powerful stories?not because they were false, but because they were too incredibly true. Social media is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal. Today, we can publish the powerful and compelling stories that the public craves. Once the story has been released, the media can't ignore it. At Project Veritas, we fully believe in the power of a free people to make the best policy decisions provided that they are informed. While the media gate- keepers attempt to control how people think, we aim to inform the public of what goes on behind closed doors, and let them decide for themselves. Though we use many different Social media sites and various methods to get around the mainstream media, the most notable are Twitter, Facebook, and You'iube. We are able to reach millions of people at the click of a button. This sphere of influence and engagement allows us to be more powerful than the any television program across the country. TWITTER ENGINEERS A WAY OF THROUGH In part two, eight current and former Twitter employees are on camera explaining steps the social media giant is taking to censor political content that they don?t like. This video proved that Twitter shadow bans Trump supporters and shifted the dis? cussion away from whether or not shadow banning exists to whether or not Twitter is a platform that has the right to ban people for their ideological beliefs. HUNDREDS OF TWITTER EMPLOYEES PAID TO VIEW YOU 8c PRIVATE Part three exposed Twitter employees admitting that Twitter views everything you post? on their servers, including private "sex messages," and "d*ck pics." The engineers also admit that Twitter analyzes this information to create a "virtual profile" of you which they sell to advertisers. This series received widespread media attention, and confirmed that Twitter was indeed banning content based on a political idoalogy. DIRECT ESSAGING ENGINEER.
