CITY OF BALTIMORE DEPARTMENT OF LAW ANDRE M. DAVIS, CITY SOLICITOR 100 N. HOLLIDAY STREET SUITE 101, CITY HALL BALTIMORE, MD 21202 BERNARD c. YOUNG Mayor December 23, 2019 Honorable Bernard C. ?Jack? Young Mayor City Hall Dear Mayor Young: It has been an honor for me to serve in and support your administration for the past siX months. I deeply admire the manner in which you stepped in under extraordinary circumstances to assume the leadership of the City. You made difficult decisions amidst enormous stress and uncertainty and you kept the City moving forward when many doubted that was possible. While the circumstances prompting the change in leadership were profoundly regrettable, I am proud to have been a part of your transition to the mayoralty. The time has come for me, both personally and professionally, to move on, and so I hereby advise you of my resignation as City Solicitor. With your concurrence, I will remain in office through the end of February or until my successor is nominated and confirmed by the Council, whichever occurs earliest. I assure you I will do everything possible to put in place a seamless transition in the leadership of the Law Department and to protect the City?s interests going forward. As you know, my adult life has been one dedicated to public service. None of that service was more rewarding for me than the two plus years I have spent in service to the people of my beloved hometown. I will be grateful for as long as I live that I have had this opportunity to serve. Respectfully, Andre Davis City Solicitor
