Jovonn Sokolovic December 21, 2019 Room 207 Mr. Gorman and Mrs. May Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Many people have been ?ghting for their rights throughout history. Martin Luther King, Jr. did the same in the 1950s and 1960s Martin Luther King, Jr. started marches and made speeches to inspire people to change the world and succeed just like him. He led marches starting a big civil rights movement. Many other African Americans followed his footsteps and stood up for their rights like Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and so on. MLK, Jr. said to always use peace to sort out violence and to sort out problems. Martin Luther King (MLK, Jr) is my idol. He inspires me to stand up to problems by using peace and kindness and also to love my enemies. In my school, we did not have a playground. I made a speech in front of the Board of Education and a year later, they built a new, safe playground. MLK, Jr. made a speech when he didn?t like people?s rights being taken away. I made a speech when I wanted change at my school. My aspirations are for the world to be at peace, no global warming, no war, and no diseases. Just like MLK Jr.?s Have a Dream? speech, I have a dream that I will create a cure for Alzheimer's disease. I have an invention but I am still experimenting and it is a secret. My grandpa forgets a lot of things and I want to help him remember his life, important memories and special events. In summary, Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired many people into changing the world in a peaceful way and standing up for their rights. Because of his success, he inspires me today.
