Measuring Human Brain Activity during repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in
healthy participants

Dear Dr. Makeig:
The Convened IRB on December 11, 2018, discussed Dr. Murphy's possible financial or other interests
related to the research that may constitute a conflict of interest and the IO's determination to suspend the
study. The committee unanimously agreed the IO's determination of suspension of the study would not
pose any significant risk. The committee was also informed of your intentions to respond to the IRB’s
December 3, 2018 letter at a later date. The committee has permitted you, if you so desire, to send out a
script to the subjects explaining that the suspension is merely an administrative one.
Please upload your reply in the form of a cover letter that clearly describes, on a point-by-point basis, how
the request(s) for clarification/revision were satisfied and two copies of revised study documents (one
copy that clearly and specifically highlights all changes made such as by using the track changes function
in Microsoft Word and one clean copy) to this project number using e-IRB services at https://irb.ucsd.edu.
Final approval will be forwarded just as soon as we can determine that your responses are satisfactory.
