On Monday July 17th 2017, Condition of Probation client Tyler Delaney was checked out to his place of employment at RMMP Landscaping located at 1898 Badger Court Dr. in the city of Alamosa Colorado, with a schedule return time of 7:00pm. Client Manager (CLM) Eduardo Soria called his place of employment and spoke with the supervisor at 7:15pm when he noticed that Delaney had not returned to the facility. His supervisor informed CLM Soria that Delaney left work at 11:00am that morning. Staff attempted to contact Delaney but was not successful. At 9pm staff completed the escape papenNork and faxed the appropriate escape papenNork to law enforcement. According to local news in Canon City, On Wednesday, August 2, 2017, Canon City Police Department spotted Delaney?s car. Delaney was a suspect in a homicide investigation; a teenager was found dead near Brush Hollow Reservoir. CCPD attempted to initiate a stop but Delaney fled, leading officers in a car chase which resulted in five officers being transported to the hospital for injuries that were sustained during the pursuit. During the pursuit, Delaney fired shots at the officers who, in return, fired back. Police used vehicle intervention techniques to end the pursuit and Delaney was eventually taken into custody.
