Deputies responded'to a Burglary in-progress and was advised by complainant Russell Stine that he observed a MIW with a black mp and a striped blue at the rear of the business breaking open a lock box and jamming something to the rear door of the MidSouth Urgent Care building. Complainant Russel Stine then advised SCSO Dispatcher that the defendant made entry in the building from ON the rear. Upon arrival. To Wit: Cocain Possession of Controlled Substance (T.C.A. On 07/03/2019 at 20:04 hours, Deputy Zeng (10733) reSponded to a Burglary/Business at 1204 Houston ?tun. Levee Rd. Deputies responded to a Burglary in-progress and was advised by complainant Russell Stine that hem?, h' observed a MIW with a black cap and a striped blue t-shirt at the rear of the business breaking open a lock box and jamming something to the rear door of the MidSouth Urgent Care building. Complainant Russel Stine then advised SCSO Dispatcher that the defendant made entry in the building from the rear. Upon arrival, Deputies created and maintained a perimeter around the business for Units arrival. While on scene, Deputies observed the lock box (on the rear door) to be opened and empty with a cold pack and 2 ceiling sprinkler heads on the ground near the rear door. While deputies were maintaining a perimeter, a MIW rounded the corner of the business that matched the description of the defendant. An employee of the business, other - Mary Vescovo, observed the defendant exit the rear-side door of the busih??aihd'made indications to Deputies that he could be the defendant by pointing at him. Deputies detained the a?f?ndant and later identi?ed him as defendant Kevin Giles. Upon detaining defendant Kevin Giles, Deputies located in the defendants pants pocket: 1 Urine Sample tube that appeared to be empty and 1 Blood Sample tube that appears to still have ?uids inside. Deputies also located a small clear baggie that had a white powdery substance inside defendantKevin Giles wallet which appeared to be cocaine. While on scene, Deputies checked the area where defendant Kevin Giles exited from, which appeared to be a maintenance room, and located 2 empty Urine Sample Tubes, 1 empty Urine Culture tube, and 2 empty Blood Sample tubes. Midsouth Urgent Care Employee, Other - Mary Vescovo, advised Deputies there were multiple baggies in the lock box (located on the rear door) that contained 3 Blood Sample tubes, 5 Urine Sample tubes, and 1 Urine Culture tube. MidSouth Urgent Care manager, other - Amber] in Jones, made scene and showed Deputies the rear door surveillance footage. Deputies observed'a MIW with a black cap and a blue striped t-shirt (defendant Kevin Giles) attempting to open the lock box by inserting a key in the lock multiple times. Footage showed defendant Kevin Giles failed to open the lock box with the key then forcefully open the lock box by pulling it with his .. hands. Surveillance footage shows defendant Kevin Giles retrieving the items from the lock box and leaving the key that was used in the lock box. Surveillance footage then shows defendant Kevin Giles attempting to pry open the rear door with an unknown object and was unsuccessful. Deputy then observed Kevin Giles leaving west on foot to an unknown location. Other - Mary Vescovo (employee) advised the vitals cost approximately 1,000.00 to replace. Other - Amberlin Jones (manager) advised the lock box will cost approximately 300.00 and the rear door handle to be approximately 800.00 to repair/replace. 0 :l - The 2 Ceiling Sprinkler Heads located from the ground came from somewhere inside the maintgrarile r3831 5102 where the other Sample Tubes were located. Deputies was advised by defendant Kevin Giles he drove to this location in his vehicle #1 Dodge 150 (Towed). Deputies located the vehicle in the parking lot of 1230 Houston Levee. Upon inventory of his vehicle for tow and defendant Kevin Giles gave verbal consent to search the vehicle, Deputies detected a strong odor of c? .- Marijuana coming from a silver box on the front passenger seat. Defendant Kevin Giles advised Deputies it was Meth inside the box and gave the code and verbal consent to Deputy to retrieve the narcotics from inside the black box. Deputies retrieved a clear baggie with what appears to be marijuana inside and a Xanax Bar.
