My cell number is (Redacted) text me a time you might be able to tali. Thanks GO Pirates". The message seemed odd shoe anyone from ECU can contact me througi ECU email. 80. I reached out to a family friend. Kel Normmn. who Iknew ha! saved on the board. I asked Mr. Kel if he had ever heard of Phil Lewis. Whiel waited for a rmly from Mr. Normann. I responded to Mr. Lewis on Facebook. Mr. Lewis responded immedately ?Can I give you a call". Akeady uneasy about the situation I told M. Lewis I was busy and waited until Mr. Kel confirmed that Mr. Lewis was an ECU board member. M. Normann remanded Yes. what did he want and what is go'ng on. I didn't know anyth'ng other than the message ECU issue. M. Kel told me thatiflspokewith Mr. Lewisto keep rnyguard up. The next day. January 6th. I spoke with M. Lewis on the phone During this phone call. Mr. Lewis said ?it's best if we keep this quiet" and ?just don't tel anyone I'm reaching out to you". Mr. Lewis that asked me questions about my election. such as the official resilts. my 'nterest in running again. details about my running partner. but mainly stated his very negative opinions about Colin Johnson's personality. lifestyle. political affiliation. and performmce as SGA president Mr. Lewis then shifted the topic to ECU needed a strong rqnbican leader like me and how many ofthe BOTmemberswereaIsorepwlican. Mr. Lewis hadsearched my Facebook to determ'ne I am a reptbican. Mr. Lewis that asked me to meet with him and M. Robbie Moore to go into more deta'l about SGA elections. I was extremely 'nt'midated by Mr. Lewis's power at the school as a Trustee. I felt like I ha! to folow throum with a meeting s'nce he had gone throum the efforts of contacting me. After speaking with M. Lewis. I caled Mr. Kel back. I told M. Kd about the lunch meeting requestand that I felt like I had togo. January 7th. I then replied to Mr. Lewis' request. M. Lewis and I ageed to meet at noon on January 13. Mr. Lewis suggested Ninos and then suggested The Viledge restaurant at the Hiton Hotel. At thelast minute, my roommate had to camel going to the lunch meet'ng. I dim?t think I could cancel the meet'ng with two Trustees of the school. so I caled Mr. Kel. He told me if I was gong to go with the meeting and dd not have anyone with me. I should record the conversation to protect myself. I met Mr. Lewis and Mr. Moore on January 13th at the Hiton restaurant. I put my phone on the table with the record'ng app on. After M. Lewis and Mr. Moore told me of the: him power connections. what they world do for me. I was afraid to tel them that I did not want to run for office orthat I was even thinking of withdawing from my classes for personal reasons s'nce they reached out to me and took so much time orchestrat'ng this plan. Towards the end ofthe meeting. I realized what they were doing was wrong. After leav'ng the meeting. I caled M. Kd and sent h'm all of the corrmunication between the three of us (Myself. Mr. Lewis. and M. Moore). The meeting left me feel'ng sick to my stomach and cormletely te'rifled. I lost one of my closest friends only a few weels earlier. After behg under such stress and battling with such depression. I was petrified of the idea of not even feel'ng safe at my own school. I was quressed and now this so later that afternoon. I withdrew from a] of my clases. The only communication I have had with any ECU officid since that day was with Paul Zigas the school attorney. 0n the phone was M. Miler and Mr. Smith. I was told by M. Zigas that they were on the BOT. Unti today. I have never met M. Miler or Mr. Smith. Unti today. I have never met or spoken to Vern Davenport. I was never encouaged by any board member to meetor record M. Mooreand Mr. Lewis. All actions and staements were my own.
