Navistar Diesel of Alabama is located at 485 Short Pike Rd SW, Huntsville, AL.

Navistar and the city of Huntsville have been corporate partners for nearly two decades.

The current building holds 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

The 110,00 square foot addition will house the production of a fully integrated
International big-bore powertrain, developed with Navistar’s global alliance partner
TRATON.

The expansion will add 145 jobs to Navistar Diesel of Alabama.

•

The additional manufacturing and assembly space is slated to be completed in the first
half of 2023.

•

The facility is currently home to approximately 130 employees, who average more than
13 years of experience in highly skilled expertise.

•

Navistar made capital investments of approximately $125 million in the expansion of this
facility.

•

To ensure error proofing, quality control and flexibility, 12 robots and more than 200
cameras are used in the current plant.

The expansion of the Huntsville facility is key to the Navistar 4.0 strategy. The
production of a fully integrated International big-bore powertrain grows Navistar’s
product portfolio, while increasing its proprietary parts and better serving customers’
needs.
