Dr. Jordan,

I am following up with you in response to our meeting on November 20, 2019 in your of?ce
with you, Jason Lumpkin, and myself. In our meeting we discussed the long journey at First
Decatur and First Baptist Church of Decatur?s membership in the Atlanta Metro Baptist
Association.

To update you, our membership committee and associational Administrative Leadership Team
(that includes the corporate of?cers) have acknowledged that your church does not match the
qualifications and/or responsibilities listed in the Manual of Procedure of the Association duly
approved in the May 2019 annual meeting of the association.

As a result, First Baptist Church of Decatur?s membership does not continue with Atlanta Baptist
Association, Inc. (dba Atlanta Metro Baptist Association) and is no longer held with the Atlanta
Metro Baptist Association as of January 27, 2020 due to First Baptist Church of Decatur?s
misalignment with the quali?cations of a member church by af?rming, approving, or endorsing
practices or behaviors that do not align with biblical standards as outlined in the Manual of
Procedure adopted by the association in May of 2019. Additionally, of note, First Baptist Church
of Decatur has not sent representatives/messengers to any Atlanta Metro Meeting in the last 24
thus not participating as a member congregation is expected.
