Supporting a culture of inclusive understanding at Arizona State University where unique intersecting identities are not only recognized but celebrated while remaining committed to the continued growth of services and support for the multidimensional needs of all students. Goal 3: Civic Engagement Help students form lifelong habits of social embeddedness through active participation in the community and political affairs to reinforce Arizona State University’s core values of democratic participation and civic leadership. Goal 4: Academics Goal 5: Resources & Support Enhance Arizona State University’s knowledge enterprise by strengthening the touch points for students seeking academic support services and eliminating barriers to ensure students have equitable opportunities for academic engagement on all locations. Evaluate and enhance current support services for students and commit to actively increasing the overall awareness, accessibility, and improvement of academic, wellness, and financial resources. OBJECTIVES FOOD ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ Consider alternatives to all dining hall receipts to reduce waste and littering on campus Mandate all on campus dining to use recyclable or compostable materials and eliminate small plastics that are non-recyclable Review existing food options to expand and diversify the amount of vegan, halal, vegetarian, and kosher food in all dining halls, including organically and locally sourced foods Make Borderlands Produce Rescue more frequent and more accessible on all ASU campuses and allow M&G to be used to purchase produce Explore ways to mitigate food insecurity on all ASU campuses HEALTH SERVICES ❏ ❏ ❏ TRAINING ❏ ❏ TRANSPORTATION ❏ ❏ Encourage students to utilize sustainable transportation options, including the light rail and Lyft partnership, and bicycling Increase bike security on campus to decrease bike theft, including additional bike valet capacity Require Health Services to send out a post-appointment survey to all students with so that improvements that can be made (to understand the needs of our diverse student body) and have a report sent to COP by spring break 2020 Continue to recruit diverse/multilingual counselors and promote undergraduate students (MCAT, GRE, LSAT, etc.) Expand study spaces during finals seasons in other buildings by setting up tables and chairs to fulfill various study type needs (e.g. group projects, individual study spaces, etc.) Increase lighting on campus and surrounding areas on campus for areas that need it most Increase the number of public safety walks that occur each semester Enhance signage across all campuses to advertise safety escort/police escort services/transportation Promote self-defense training classes hosted by ASU Police Department Advocate for medical amnesty to the
