While conducting showers on Juliette Pod Offender Brakefield
had manipulated the hand restraints causing his hands to be free.
The offender was able to gain control of the housing unit keys.
Offender Brakefield then began unlocking several doors letting
the following offenders from their cell. The four offenders then
proceeded to Offender Jerome Harris #203772 cell where they
assaulted him. Offender Tate #175958 used a weapon to assault
Offender Harris #203772 causing multiple puncture wounds to
the head, back, chest and facial area. Paramedics arrived and
took over the care of Offender Harris and prepared him for
transport to the nearest trauma center. Offender Harris #203772
was transported to Southwest Regional Medical Center via
ambulance for further treatment. Upon arriving to Southwest
medical center it was determined that Offender Harris #203772
needed to be transported to UMC located in Jackson
Mississippi . Staff enter J-pod and conducted a shake down of
Offender Marcus Brakefield assigned cell. Lieutenant D. Miles
discovered a 6 inch sharpened metal instrument on person.
