Superior Court has considered your request to telecommute to your job as a Court Operations Technician I with the Office of Interpreter Services. Due to the nature of your work, telecommuting cannot be considered a reasonable accommodation at this time. Your position has responsibilities cannot be performed via telecommuting, including the following: • • • • • Assisting in-person customers, including court staff, bailiffs, counsel, interpreters and those who are Limited English Proficient. Maintaining the Assisted Listening Device equipment at the King County Courthouse, including checkout, return, cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting. Printing and organizing interpreter invoices and responding to interpreters’ questions about them. Making real-time scheduling adjustments, requiring coordination with other staff. Due to staffing limitations, these duties cannot readily be performed by other Office of Interpreter Services staff. Our office must remain open to the public when the court is open for regular business, requiring adequate staff to be present. You may take sick leave, and may be eligible for Family Medical Leave.
