Hodge Independent Compliance Re: 'irector Y COVID19 Update The purpose of this memorandum is to update you on the status of the Orleans Parish Sheriffs Office (OPSO) and the Orleans Justice Center (OJC) regarding the COVID19 crisis. Since the last updated report on Tuesday, March 24, 2020; cc: • Regarding OPSO staff, a total of twenty (20) staff have been tested. Five (5) have tested positive, two (2) have tested negative, and thirteen (13) are awaiting their results. Eight (8) employees have self-quarantined because they came in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID19. • Fourteen (14) Wellpath employees have been tested. Four (4) have tested positive, and ten (10) are awaiting their results. Four (4) employees have self-quarantined because they came in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID19. • There was one (1) inmate assigned to Hunts who was transported to the University Medical Center (UMC) because of a high fever. He was tested for the virus, and returned to OJC. • In summary, the inmate population at OJC is 824, and the population at the Temporary Detention Center (TDC) is 45 for a total population of 869. Of the 869 inmates in custody, three (3) have been tested, and the results are still pending. A former inmate tested positive and is in stable condition at the hospital.
