BOISVERT AFFIDAVIT FOR PROBABLE CAUSE 1. The undersigned scream and af?rms, under the penalties for perjury, that he has good cause to believe that; On or about the 15th, day of August, 2002, in the County of Allen and in the State of Indiana, the Defendant did knowingly commit the crime of MURDER. 2. The Defendant, HOLLY S. BOISVERT, is described as being: FEMALE, DOB 05-14-1986. 3. Your Af?ant, BRIAN MARTIN, is an of?cer of the Fort Wayne Police Department. Your Affiant believes and has good cause to believe that the Defendant committed the offense of MURDER. Your Af?ant bases his belief on the following information: on Thursday, August 15, 2002, at approximately 10:50 P.M., the Defendant killed Stacey DeGrandchamp by stabbing her to death with a knife in the backyard of the home located at REDACTED, Fort Wayne, Allen County, lndiana ED) 4. On August 15, 2002, Of?cer Scott Wilson with the Fort Wayne Police Department interviewed WITNESS 1 who stated that she and the Defendant were inside the house located at REDACTED on August 15, 2002, prior to the Defendant continnting Stacey DeGrandchamp that day and that the Defendant told WITNESS I that Stacey DeGrandchamp: ?[115 about to take an ass whipping tonight.? After making this statement, the Defendant went into the backyard of REDACTED and began to argue with Stacey DeGrandchat-np. The argument became physical and the Defendant and Stacey DeGrandchamp fell to the ground where they engaged in ?ghting, kicking and hair pulling. WITNESS 2 pulled Stacey DeGrandchamp out of the ?ght. Stacey DeGrandchamp walked a few steps to leave, but she collapsed and fell to the ground. As Stacey DeGrandcharnp lay on the ground, WITNESS 1 saw blood on the front of the shirt Stacey DeGrandchamp was wearing that was not there prior to the ?ght. 5. On September 5, 2002, Detective Nolan Banks with the Fort Wayne Police Department interviewed the Defendant, who stated that she was at REDACTED on August 15, 2002, visiting WITNESS 2. During this interview, the Defendant said that she and WITNESS 2 were sitting on the ?oat porch of the house located at REDACTED when Stacey DeGrandchamp and WITNESS I arrived. The Defendant and WITNESS 2 went inside the house. The Defendant went to the bathroom where she talked to WITNESS 1, who told the Defendant that Stacey DeGrandchamp was outside, but Stacey DeGrandchamp had no problem with the Defendant and it was ok for the Defendant to go outside. The Defendant told Detective Banks that as she and WITNESS I started to walk out the back door of the house she heard Stacey DeGrandchamp yelling: ?what is she doing here?? The Defendant stated she did not say anything in response and just stood there. The Defendant told Detective Banks that she then heard Stacey DeGrandchamp talking about one of the Defendant?s ?iends and that is what ?set her off?. The Defendant said she started yelling at Stacey DeGrandohamp and they got in each other?s faces. The Defendant then advised Detective Banks that WITNESS 3 stepped between them and she thought they were walking away from each other. However, the Defendant alleged that Stacey DeGrandchamp tinned back toward her and pushed her, knocking her over into some recycling bins, where Stacey DeGIandchamp' grabbed the Defendant by the hair and drug her from the recycling bins to the grassy area of the yard. The Defendant stated that she then grabbed Stacey DeGrandchamp by the wrists and threw her down on the ground where they were kicking each other. The Defendant advised Detective Banks that when she tried to get up, she remembered being kicked in the head by Stacey DeGrandchamp and could not get up. The Defendant told Detective Banks that WITNESS 2 grabbed Stacey DeGrandchamp by her feet and broke up the ?ght. Detective Banks asked the Defendant if she had a knife and the Defendant said: When Detective Banks asked how Stacey DeGrandohamp got stabbed, the Defendant said Stacey DeGrandchamp probably landed on something when she got knocked into the recycling bin. Page 1 of3 10. 11. On January 9, 2003, Detective Nolan Banks with the Fort Wayne Police Department interviewed WITNESS 2 who was at REDACTED on August 15, 2002. WITNESS 2 stated that shortly before the Defendant went into the backyard at REDACTED to confront Stacey DeGrandchamp, the Defendant changed into sweats and pulled her hair into a ponytail. On January 10, 2003, WITNESS 2 told Detective Banks that a few days after Stacey DeGrandchamp was stabbed, the Defendant told him that she had a knife with her on August 15, 2002, and that a?er Stacey DeGrandchamp was stabbed, the Defendant washed her hands and put the knife on or by a car parked in front of the house located at REDACTED, but the Defendant denied stabbing Stacey DeGrandchamp. Your A?iant and Detective Andy Noll interviewed the Defendant on April 29, 2019, in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, where the Defendant currently resides. The Defendant was adviSed of her Miranda rights, stated that she understood her rights and agreed to talk with your A??iant and Detective Noll. During this interview, the Defendant admitted that she was at the REDACTED address on August 15, 20 02; she went outside the house located at into the backyard where she got into a physical ?ght with Stacey DeGrandchamp; she and Stacey DeGrandchamp were the only people involved in the fight; she changed into sweatpants prior to going outside and getting in the ?ght with Stacey DeGrandchamp; and, she brought a knife with her to REDACTED that day. Dining this interview, the Defendant voluntarily gave the knife she had in her possession on August 15, 2002, to your A?iant. As your Af?ant was returning to Fort Wayne, Indiana, from Wisconsin on April 29, 2019, your Affiant received a phone call from WITNESS 4, the maintenance man at the apartments where the Defendant currently lives in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. WITNESS 4 told your Af?ant that he had just talked with the Defendant and the Defendant was asking him questions about how to get out of her lease if she had to leaVe quickly. WITNESS 4 also told your A?iant that the Defendant was very curious and wonied and asked him if the police could match a knife to injuries by measurements. On December 5, 2019, Detective Mikulec with the Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin Police Department'assisted your Af?ant with getting a signed consent from the Defendant to obtain the Defendant?s medical records from Parkview Behavior Health. When Det. Mikuiec arrived to meet with the Defendant, she appeared to be upset and had tears in her eyes. While she was in the presence of Det. Mikulec, the Defendant made Spontaneous statements that included: think I killed my best friend and that?s why you're here;" and, "If I had just walked away and not turned around to ?ght" Stacey DeGrandchamp would still be alive. Dr. JOSEPH T. CZAJA, MD., a pathologist, performed an autopsy of Stacey DeGrandchamp on August 16, 2002, and found that she had been stabbed twice, once in the left mid-chest and once in the right upper abdomen. Dr. Czaj a found that the cause of Stacey DeGrandcham's death was a stab wound of the chest and the manner of her death was homicide. On May, 8, 2019, your Af?ant met with Dr. SCOTT WAGNER, Chief Pathologist for Allen County, Indiana, and provided him with the original crime scene pictures, autopsy pictures and autopsy report concerning the homicide of Stacey DeGrandchamp, along with a picture of the knife that included a measurement of the knife and a measuring scale. Dr. Scott Wagner informed your Af?ant that the knife in the picture was consistent with the type of weapon that could have inflicted the wounds that killed Stacey DeGrandchamp. The referenced evidence establishes that the Defendant-was in a physical altercation with Stacey DeGrandchamp on August 15, 2002, in the backyard of the home located at REDACTED, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. During this altercation, the Defendant stabbed Stacey DeGrandchamp twice, ouce in the left mid-chest and once in the right upper abdomen; however, none of the witnesses at the scene saw the knife. Stacey DeGrandchamp died as a result of the stab wound to her chest and her death was ruled ahomicide. The Defendant has produced the knife she has admitted that she had in her possession on August 15, 2002, and has made spontaneous admissions, including: "1 think I killed my best friend;? and, "If I had just walked away and not turned around to ?ght?
