Per your inquiry this week,
The Oakland Fire Department can confirm that we had our first reported case where an employee
tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is currently self-quarantined and recovering and has
not been to work since March 15, 2020.
The Department has taken immediate action and precautions to protect the health and safety of all
of our employees.
The Department is following Alameda County’s Public Health Order and protocols, and the Center
for Disease Control’s protocols for COVID-19, in addition to all of the Governor's declarations.
